NEW HAVEN, CT — It was around 8:20 p.m., when cops were called to the intersection of Lloyd and Clay streets for the report of a stabbing," police posted to "X."

According to police, when officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old New Haven man suffering from two "minor" stab wounds. He was accompanied by a female companion, police said.

Cops were told by the couple that they were walking on Lloyd Street when a man approached them demanding "everything they had." A struggle ensued resulting in the victim getting stabbed, police said. The man was later treated for his injuries.

Police said the suspect was able to "take items from both victims before fleeing on foot."

He was described as a Hispanic male in his 40s, clean-shaven, with no teeth wearing red pants and red hoodie.
