Tuesday Night Shooting Probe, Hours-Long Standoff Ends With Arrest: PD
A gunshots report, with 50 rounds fired, led to SWAT response for an armed man inside a home, who was ultimately arrested, no one hurt: PD.
NEW HAVEN, CT — At just before 8 p.m., Tuesday, New Haven police were called to the area of Greenwich and Howard avenues, between First and Second streets on the report of gunshots. Almost 50 rounds were detected, police said.
Police said officers surrounded a house on Greenwich Avenue and told the occupants inside the home to come out. After several hours, Daryl Brantley, 44, who was holed up inside, came out "after receiving commands from the New Haven SWAT team and was taken into custody," police said.
"A subsequent search warrant execution located an AK47 style rifle with two high-capacity magazines inside the residence," police spokesperson officer Christian Bruckhart said.

Brantley was charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, first-degree reckless endangerment, assault on a police officer, criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a large capacity magazine, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge, and interfering with police.
