UPDATE: Wilbur Cross High School Locked Down Thursday Morning After Social Media Threat, Student Arrested: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT — Wilbur Cross was briefly placed in lockdown —from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. —after a 16-year-old male student made threats on social media against other students, New Haven police reported.

The Wilbur Cross student was "quickly located at home and was taken into custody," police said.

The lockdown was lifted, according to police spokesperson Officer Christian Bruckhart. He added that the "threat did not appear to be credible."

The teen was charged with second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace, Bruckhart said.
