2 Students Arrested After Wilbur Cross HS Placed On Lockdown: Police
Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven was placed on lockdown Wednesday after reports of a student possibly with a firearm, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police late Wednesday shared new details regarding a lockdown that was initiated at Wilbur Cross High School on Wednesday afternoon.
At 12:46 p.m. school resources officers at the school were contacted regarding a student possibly possessing a firearm, police said.
The school was placed in lockdown and officers investigated.

"Officers were unable to confirm if the weapon was real or a facsimile. They were able to determine that the student left the school shortly before the lockdown was initiated and as a result the lockdown was lifted, allowing students and staff to leave," police said.
Police found the student along with another student who was in possession of a BB gun, police said. Both juveniles were taken into custody. The student who caused the lockdown was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds, second-degree threatening, and second-degree breach of peace.

The other juvenile was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, interfering with an officer, and second-degree breach of peace.
Police said the lockdown was lifted as of 2:55 p.m. Wednesday.
