Woman, 78, Critical After Pit Bull Attack In New Haven
BREAKING: The woman is said to be in critical condition.

NEW HAVEN, CT — An elderly woman is in critical condition after she was attacked by a pit bull in New Haven, police said.
New Haven police said that the woman in her 70s was attacked by the dog in the yard of her home. The dog's owner also resides in the home.
Animal control has quarantined the dog. Police said the dog owner has not been charged as the encounter was not the result of a loose animal and took place on private property.

WTNH News 8 reports that the 78-year-old woman suffered injuries to her head, neck and throat. She was conscious when she was taken to the hospital.
As of 3 p.m., the woman remains in critical condition.
