In Yale New Haven Health 'Redesign,' 38 Administrators May Lose Jobs
In consolidation measure, YNHH may move some into different roles, but dozens in management and admin positions may no longer have jobs.

NEW HAVEN, CT — In its so-called "redesign" of its operating model and "organizational structures," Yale New Haven Health is consolidating its management and administrative leadership team to streamline decision-making, according to a hospital spokesperson.
In other words, people are being laid off.
According to Mark D'Antonio, Yale New Haven Health Media Coordinator, most of the people in "existing positions will have opportunities within the new structure; however, their roles may change."

D'Antonio said that YNHH's Human Resources department is "working closely with all impacted employees to determine their next steps."
That said, "In some cases, there may not be new roles for individuals," D'Antonio added.

"Pending individual decisions, up to 38 individuals in management and administrative positions may no longer have a position within the organization,” he noted.
In an original YNHH communication, D'Antonio wrote:
"Yale New Haven Health is redesigning its operating model including inpatient care and ambulatory operations organizational structures to support our system’s continued transformation to ensure we remain nimble in delivering compassionate, safe, high-quality care to everyone we are privileged to serve. These changes will impact management and administration, as we redefine and consolidate our leadership team to streamline decision-making and drive growth across the Health System. Most impacted individuals will have opportunities within the new structure, though their roles may change, and we hope that they will remain with our system.
Embracing a structure that has already been adopted by many of our peer institutions, this redesign will allow us to maintain a consistent care signature for the patients we serve today, while growing to serve more patients across our region."
