Air Quality Alert, Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for New Milford

The National Weather Service (NW) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and an Air Quality Alert for New Milford.

The National Weather Service cautions that thunderstorms this afternoon could produce isolated damaging wind gusts. Additionally, an Air Quality Alert is in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, which means that “ground level ozone within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards,” the National Weather Service states.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected after 4 p.m. with temps near 90 degrees. A half inch of rain is possible. More storms are possible up until midnight.
On Friday, only a 20 percent chance of storms and mostly sunny with temps around 90 degrees again. On Saturday, a 50 percent chance of storms all day with temps cooler and near 80 degrees. There is a 30 percent chance of showers on Sunday but it should also be mostly sunny and temps near 80 again.
