Heated Exchange At New Milford Town Council Meeting: Report
An argument over the town's tree contract took a loud and contentious turn Monday night.

NEW MILFORD, CT — A contentious debate over tree removal lead to a screaming match at the New Milford Town Council meeting Monday, according to a report from the News Times. Mayor David Gronbach, Tree Warden Carlos Caridad and a tree contractor.
The argument stemmed from a removal of dangerous trees in town, and allegedly led to Caridad announcing his resignation, according to the publication. Both men agreed the town's tree contract needed to be changed, as the town has not picked a contractor.
Sam Gentile, the owner of Gentile Tree Care who was contracted by the town for tree work before Gronbach took office, accused Gronbach of purposefully denying his company the work. According to the report, Gentile called Gronbach a "scumbag."
