Longtime New Milford Resident Dorothy F. Collida, 89, Passed Away

New Milford, CT — Dorothy F. Collida of New Milford, CT, died Friday July 1, 2016 at New Milford Hospital at the age of 89.

She was born March 26, 1927 in New York, NY, daughter of the late Frank and Gladys (Wilson) Bautista. In 1944 she married Fred Collida in New York City. Fred predeceased Dorothy on February 6, 1973.

Mrs. Collida was a unit secretary at the Kidney Dialysis Center in Lauderdale Lakes, FL, for many years before retiring and moving to New Milford twenty five years ago. She is survived by her son Frank Collida of New Milford, CT, her daughters Debbie Pilla (Thomas) of New Milford, CT and Susan Collida of CA, two sisters Estelle Hengstler and Elaine Clark both of FL, her grandchildren Fred Collida, Elena Picarelli (Robert) and Steven Pilla (Stephanie) and six precious great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday July 7, 2016 at St. Francis Xaivier Church in New Milford at 10:00am followed by the internment in Center Cemetery in New Milford. Calling hours will be held at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday July 6, 2016.
