Muse Squad Launches Fall 2025 Creative Writing Courses Inspired by Peter Pan

New Milford, CT – This fall, Muse Squad invites young writers on a literary journey to Neverland with two 10-week creative writing courses held at the John Pettibone Community Center (2 Pickett District Road, New Milford, CT 06776). Inspired by the beloved 1911 story Peter and Wendy by J.M. Barrie, these immersive courses are designed to spark imagination, build storytelling skills, and nurture a lifelong love of writing.

The Neverland courses are divided by age group:

• Neverland: Juniors (Ages 8–12) Fridays, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM September 19 – December 5
• Neverland: Teens (Ages 13+) Thursdays, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM September 25 – December 11
  

Through lively discussions, creative prompts, and guided writing exercises, students will explore themes from Peter and Wendy, such as imagination, adventure, and the tension between childhood and growing up. Using carefully selected excerpts from Barrie’s timeless novel, young writers will learn to develop characters, craft compelling narratives, and express their unique voices.

Each course includes ten 90-minute sessions. Whether your child is already an avid storyteller or just beginning their writing journey, Neverland offers an encouraging space to grow and create.

This semester’s classes will be led in part by Kristy DiPietro, a new addition to the New Milford teaching team. DiPietro brings a Bachelor of Arts in Writing and an Early Childhood Teacher’s License, along with a deep passion for both storytelling and education. She joins a talented group of Muse Squad instructors dedicated to nurturing young writers in a fun, supportive environment.
