New Milford Daycare to Close Due to Low Enrollment: Report
New Milford Kindercare will shut its doors this August due to low enrollment, according to a report.
New Milford, CT — KinderCare of New Milford will close its doors on August 26 due to low enrollment, according to a report on the New Times.
An online petition has collected 157 signatures so far of their 1,000 signature goal to keep the location open. The petition stated:
"This morning we were given the news that our beloved daycare center the KinderCare of New Milford CT where our son goes to will be closing on 8/26/16 because the lease being charged by FEM Real Estate has been a financial burden for the last couple years and the center can no longer afford it. 26 of the most wonderful people I have ever met work here and will be losing their jobs. Numerous families will now be forced to scramble and enroll their kids on a lesser program or they will be unable to afford daycare all together. The KinderCare of New Milford CT provides a nurturing environment for our children and the caretakers treat each child as if it was their own. It is a shame that a large corporation like FEM Real Estate is only concerned about $$$ and not the good this program does for the community and families of New Milford and the surrounding areas. Please sign this petition to try to save our center and contact FEM Real Estate:(973) 335-2110 info@femrealestate.com."
