New Milford Man Pays it Forward with Lottery Winnings

A New Milford man has decided to spread the wealth and pay it forward with his recent lottery winnings.

NEW MILFORD, CT — A New Milford man is spreading the wealth with his lottery winnings. Leo Denault of New Milford played his winning “30X The Cash 3rd Edition” ticket in front of a line of customers at a Newtown cigar shop, Brand Cigars. After revealing his $30,000 prize, Denault’s generosity prompted him to share his winnings with everyone behind him. But before he paid for paid for everyone he made them promise one thing. “Go out and do something nice for someone else today!”

“We’re all about helping others,” Leo Denault said of his family while talking to Connecticut Lottery officials. The winner plans on using his winnings to pay it forward, but first he’ll take his family on vacation.

For selling the winning ticket, Brand Cigars located at 266 South Main Street in Newtown will receive a $300 check from the CT Lottery. The overall odds of winning a 30X Cash 3rd Edition prize are 1 in 3.53. Of the 113 top prizes worth $30,000, 14 remain to be claimed.
