• Dogs removed from Danbury High coach's home were confined, living in waste, warrant says (milfordmirror.com) — Two dogs from a Brookfield home were removed by authorities and brought to the New Milford Regional Animal Control center, where they reportedly drank large amounts of water immediately. A warrant alleges the animals had been confined in filthy, unsanitary conditions, leading to animal-cruelty charges against their owner, a Danbury High School volleyball coach. The case continues in Danbury Superior Court.

• Eleanor O'Neill, 91 (putnamcountycourier.com) — New Milford readers may recognize the Principi family as they mourn Eleanor “Mama Mia” O’Neill, whose daughter Ann‑Marie lives locally. The 91‑year‑old Brooklyn native is remembered as a devoted mother of six, a gifted home cook, and a nurturing neighborhood “other mom” whose warmth, faith, and humor shaped generations of family and friends.
