One person was taken to Danbury Hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Newtown.
NEWTOWN, CT — Emergency crews responded early New Year's Day to a single-vehicle crash on Blue Spruce Drive that sent one person to the hospital with injuries described as mild to moderate, authorities said.
Botsford Fire Rescue was dispatched at about 4:43 a.m. to the crash scene, their first call of 2026. Officials said the vehicle left the roadway and traveled approximately 52 feet through the air before striking a stone pillar.
Firefighters mitigated a fluid spill from the vehicle, and the injured occupant was transported to Danbury Hospital by Newtown EMS and a paramedic unit. The vehicle was later removed from the scene.
