4 Fire Companies Respond to Newtown Trailer Park Blaze

Newtown, CT — Botsford Fire was dispatched to 301 South Main Street for a reported fire at a mobile home at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Upon arrival, Botsford command reported seeing a light haze in the building with no fire showing, they said in a statement. Within one minute of arrival, crews saw fire coming from the exterior crawl space and began to pulling off the siding to gain access to the fire.

Crews from Newtown Hook & Ladder , Sandy Hook Fire, Dodgingtown Fire and Hawleyville Fire companies responded to the blaze which they said was knocked out quickly.

The incident is under investigation but appeared to be an electrical problem that ignited the fire, they said in a statement.
