The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary pays tribute to the life of Catherine Violet Hubbard, a 6-year-old victim of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings, "honoring the bond between animals, humans and the environment."

The Newtown Forest Association is dedicated to preserving forests, agricultural lands, meadows, watersheds, and other open spaces in Newtown, for the benefit of plants, animals, and human residents of the town.
Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps is made up of 70 trained emergency medical technicians who volunteer their time to help others in their community. NVAC covers an area of over 60 square miles and is one of the most active volunteer EMS providers in the region with a volume of over 2,700 calls and 30,000 volunteer hours per year.
