Newtown, CT – The Sandy Hook Organization for Prosperity (S.H.O.P.) will hold its Seventh Annual Passport to Sandy Hook on Saturday, October 7, from 11 am to 4 pm. S.H.O.P. is comprised of business owners and residential members from the Sandy Hook community.
Come join us for a day of enjoyment, live music, samples from local restaurants, visit with the Newtown Therapy Dogs, jump in the bouncy house, and take part in lots of other family friendly activities provided at stations hosted by local merchants.

Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue will again be conducting a Stuff-the-Truck to benefit FAITH Food Pantry. Donations of nonperishable food, or monetary donations, will be collected at the fire truck behind 102 Church Hill Road.
The event is sponsored by Newtown Savings Bank, Connecticut rock station 99.1-WPLR, Nick’s Chilled & Distilled, LRM Landscape Contractors, and Andy Sachs/The Around the Town Team of Coldwell Banker.

The family friendly event is free and will be held rain or shine in the section of Sandy Hook bounded by Church Hill Road, Washington Avenue, Glen Road and Riverside Road. Come join us for activities like the inflatable slide, and arts and crafts. Sample free food and beverages while watching live
music performances, and enjoy discounts and samples as you visit businesses and get your passport stamped! Visitors must obtain stamps from all participating venues, then enter their passport to win one of 3 prize packages. Winners will be selected at 4:15 pm at the bandstand located at 102 Church Hill Road. You need not be present to win.
S.H.O.P. has been instrumental in supporting the Sandy Hook Village community and business district by implementing ongoing revitalization, marketing, business growth, philanthropy, advocacy and Arts & Culture initiatives since the 80s. The group’s mission is to promote the village as a family friendly, pedestrian-oriented community within Newtown which celebrates Sandy Hook’s unique historic heritage and beautiful natural setting. S.H.O.P. Members include storefront property owners, local business owners, as well as Sandy Hook residents.
