Baby Bailey Named as Newtown's Most Beautiful Baby
The Newtown Beautiful Baby contest helped a local wounded army ranger. Eleven-month-old Bailey Alice Lennon was named winner.
NEWTOWN, CT — Bailey Alice Lennon has won the prestigious award and was featured in the Newtown Labor Day Parade on Monday, September 5, as the most beautiful baby in Connecticut. Bailey’s photo won The Homes For Our Troops Beautiful Baby Photo Contest. Bailey and her parents, Meghan and Mark Lennon live in Southbury, CT and her photo was entered by her grandmother, Pam Curley of Naugatuck.
The contest is a fundraiser for our nation’s wounded military to receive a specially adapted house through the national non-profit Homes for Our Troops. One hundred percent of the money raised was donated to for a specially adapted house for a soldier returning with life-altering injuries. This year’s contest funds were earmarked for Army Ranger Sean Pesce of West Haven. Pesce was shot through the spine and is now permanently paralyzed.
Next year’s contest will help support Marine Corps Corporal Roger Rua from Naugatuck, CT, who was also shot in the back. Rua’s home will be built in ether Cheshire or Middlebury, CT. If you would like to enter a photo in next year’s 2017’s Beautiful Baby Contest, please email babycontest2010@gmail.com to be notified when the contest kicks off next year.
