The Barn Rats To Bring Eclectic Acoustic And Electric Grooves To Newtown Summer Concerts

The Barn Rats perform original tunes and jammy covers July 10 at Newtown Summer Concert Series

NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Summer Concert Series continues Thursday, July 10, with a performance by The Barn Rats, a genre-blending band known for mixing heartfelt original songs with an eclectic range of covers. The free concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Dickinson Memorial Bandshell, located at 50 Elm Drive and Brushy Hill Road.

Based in Connecticut, The Barn Rats draw inspiration from folk, rock, bluegrass, Americana, and jam-band traditions. With a lineup of acoustic and electric instruments, the group adapts its performances to suit the vibe—ranging from intimate, harmony-driven acoustic sets to full-on electric jams that get audiences moving.

The Newtown Summer Concert Series, presented by Newtown Parks & Recreation and Claris Construction, runs every Thursday through July 31. A rain date is scheduled for August 7. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and picnics to enjoy the open-air music experience.
