Buckle Up for the Worst Potholes in Newtown

We asked Patch Readers which streets have the most bumps, divots and craters in their area.

Nothing puts a dent in a morning commute like bad traffic and a street littered with potholes.

Blizzard 2016 left monumental snowfalls up and down the east coast, and Newtown was not immune to its wrath.

Large snowfalls compiled with El Niño induced warmer temperatures have caused more potholes and road problems than most motorists can stomach.

Patch Readers gave us a rundown of particularly pocked streets in their neighborhoods. Here are some spots that might be worth detouring:

  • “There is one on Swamp Road that will take your tire off if you don’t see it in time.”
  • “The Boulevard after Hairpin and before Hanover.”
  • “PLEASE fix the Boulevard. It needs repaving, not pothole-filling.”
  • “New Lebbon, from end to end, been patched way to many times”
  • “Sugar Hill Road is one big pot hole from top to bottom”
  • “Birch Hill Road and Cannon Drive”
  • “Riverside stinks. In addition to potholes you have raised manhole covers that you have to dodge.”
  • “End of Great Ring Road before one lane bridge. And all of Great Ring”
  • “Pole Bridge is horrendous and I don’t remember ever being around for when Riverside was repaved.”
  • “Huntingtown by the Jewish synagogue”
