Driver Injured In 1-Car Rollover Crash In Newtown: Police

The March 5 crash occurred on Riverside Road.

NEWTOWN, CT — A 26-year-old Sandy Hook woman was injured on March 5 in a one-car rollover crash on Riverside Road near Goodyear Road in Newtown, according to police.

The crash occurred at about 1:15 a.m. as the driver was traveling eastbound on Riverside Road.

Police said the vehicle, a 2005 Toyota Prius, crossed into the westbound lane and struck a utility pole, snapping the pole in half.

The vehicle then flipped over and came to rest on its roof, according to police. Its airbags were deployed.

The victim, who was alone in the vehicle, was taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment.
