Driver Left Scene After Car Crashed Into Guardrail: Newtown Police

Police are asking for any information on the case.

NEWTOWN, CT — Police are investigating after a car was found with heavy front end damage 100 yards from the scene of a crash on Toddy Hill Road. Police said the Toyota Camry failed to negotiate a slight curve to the left and struck a metal beam guardrail along the right shoulder.

Police say the car then bounced off the metal guardrail and crossed the center line into the southbound travel and continued on without stopping. The car was found 100 yards south of the crash scene withnobody inside.

Police say a K9 was used to try and track the driver, but the driver was not found.
