Crews from neighboring towns were called in to battle a barn fire in Newtown on Saturday.
NEWTOWN, CT — A fire broke out in an animal barn Saturday afternoon, prompting a multi-agency response from all five Newtown volunteer fire companies, Newtown Volunteer Ambulance, and a paramedic unit.
The structure, located approximately 40 feet from a residence, was fully involved when emergency crews arrived, Newtown Hook & Ladder reported on social media. The first engine on scene quickly knocked down the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to the nearby home. Firefighters conducted exterior operations only.
