Former Sandy Hook Resident Marjorie Frazer Melanson, 82, Passed Away

Bethel, CT— Marjorie Frazer (Powell) Melanson, age 82, of Bethel and formerly Sandy Hook, CT died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Danbury Hospital.

She was born in Patterson, NJ, June 8, 1934, daughter of the late Alexander and Rebecca N. (McConnell) Powell. She trained to be a Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Patterson, NJ, graduating in 1955.

In her career as a Registered Nurse helping others, she worked at various hospitals and Doctor's offices on both the east and west coast. She retired in 1999 and spent many an hour enjoying arts and crafts. Marjorie is survived by her daughter: Priscilla G. Massman and her husband Rick of Bethel, CT.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Danbury Animal Welfare Society, 147 Grassy Plain St., Bethel, or to the Bethel Public Library, 189 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, CT 06801. There is no formal service.
