Gofundme Page Started for Newtown Man Killed in Boating Accident

The navy veteran, husband and father is described by friends as one of a kind.

NEWTOWN, CT — Residents are banning together to raise funds for the man killed in a boating accident on Lake Zoar Monday morning. Started by his youngest son Cory Pineau, a gofundme page has been started in honor of Navy veteran and father of three Randy Pineau who was killed when a ski boat collided into his pontune boat in the Sandy Hook part of the lake Monday.

He leaves wife Katherine Pineau, and sons Ryan, Conor and Cory.

"Randy was truly one of a kind," read the page."Those who knew him had their hearts touched by him in so many ways, he was selfless and lived to create happiness for everyone he knew and loved."

The viewing will be held Friday, July 21 at the Honan Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Internment will be held with a Weston Police escort at 10 a.m. at Zoar Cemetery. The reception will be held Saturday, July 22 at 12 p.m. at the Sandy Hook firehouse.
