Irate Newtown Man Threw Cell Phone At Police Car: Wilton PD
Police say the man also tried to leave the scene on a bicycle.

WILTON, CT — A bizarre drunk driving stop resulted in a thrown cell phone and an attempted getaway early Tuesday morning, according to Wilton Police. David Lawrence MaGuire, 39, of Newtown was arrested after he threw his cell phone at a police car and attempted to leave the scene of a traffic stop on a bicycle, police say.
Wilton police stopped MaGuire on Danbury Road at the Ridgefield line just after midnight Tuesday for a DUI when he became verbally abusive and violent. Police say he later threw the phone and tried to ride off on a bicycle from the rear of his car.
MaGuire allegedly returned to the scene on the bicycle, where he fell off onto the road. Police say he became more violent and abusive while being arrested, and police later found he had no driver's license. He also refused any testing at police headquarters.
