Man Charged With DUI After Crash: Newtown Police

The accused was also charged with driving a vehicle without an ignition device.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Seymour man was arrested for driving a vehicle under the influence Sunday after a crash on Rte. 34. Police say they responded to Rte. 34 and Jordan Hill Road for a vehicle possibly in an accident.

Police at the scene found David Dematlachoski, 33, of Seymour on Jordan Hill Road. Following investigation, Dematlachowski was taken into custody.

Dematlachowski was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, insurance coverage fails minimum requirements, improper use-marker/license/registration and illegal operation of a vehicle without an ignition device.

He posted a $100 cash bond and is due in Danbury Superior Court on Aug. 3.
