McDonald's Will Hire 1,200 Workers In Connecticut
The fast food chain is using Snapchat to recruit millennial job seekers.

Those looking for work in Connecticut may turn to the golden arches, as one of the world's largest food chains will be hiring 1,200 workers in Connecticut. McDonald's announced Monday that the organization and its independent franchisees will hire 1,200 restaurant employees in state.
The company said it is making a hiring push for the holiday season, and targeting employees under the age of 24 by using Snapchat. Using what McDonald's calls 'Snaplications,' job seekers will be able to begin the application process for a job at McDonald's through Snapchat. “Based on the success of the first round of Snaplications, we are excited to bring this platform back for job seekers during the holiday season,” Paul Hendel, local McDonald’s franchisee and President of the New York Tri-State Owner/Operators Association said in a statement. “We provide restaurant employees with opportunities by offering flexible schedules, professional skills, and education."

McDonald's first started its 'Snaplications' in Australia, and brought it to the U.S. this summer. The company touted its success in the form of a 35 percent spike in applications and a 30 percent traffic increase to its careers page.
"It is all part of our commitment to being America’s best first job. I’ve experienced those opportunities first hand, starting out as a crew person at age 16 and now operating 23 restaurants,” Hendel said in a statement.
