Michael Joseph Margait, 55, of Sandy Hook, Passed Away

SANDY HOOK, CT — Michael Joseph Margait, age 55, died suddenly Sunday December 25 in Danbury Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Bridgeport on September 22, 1961 a son of Rudy Margait of Palm Harbor, FL and Elizabeth (Kelly) Samu and her husband Ken of Delray Beach, FL.

Michael grew up in Sandy Hook and graduated from Newtown High School and Southern CT State University. For 28 years, he was a salesman for CDI Liquor Distributors of Stratford. Mike was an avid fan of the NY Jets. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Michelle Markham and her husband Kyle of Oceanside, CA; his fiancée, Patty Hayes of Sandy Hook; two brothers, Mark Margait and his wife Diane and Robert Margait all of St. Petersburg, FL and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown Friday December 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.stjude.org.
