Music and Meditation on the Schedule for Newtown Today

Update: Tonight's Gerst Lite concert has been cancelled due to threat of storms. Newtown Parks and Recreation say the concert may be rescheduled to a later date.

From transcendental meditation to live music to movies, here's a sampling of events going on around Newtown today:

Summer Concert: Catch some great acoustic rock at Dickinson Park with Gerst Lite. Starts at 6:30 p.m. -- bring food and a lawn chair or blanket.

Transcendental Meditation: The David Lynch Foundation brings this technique for focusing and relaxation to Newtown. 6:30 p.m. at the C.H. Booth Library.

The Great Gatsby: Last chance to catch this film at Edmond Town Hall -- Epic starts tomorrow. Showtimes 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Rockin' Babies and Boppin' Toddlers: Kids from 12 to 36 months can learn about rhythm and music at C.H. Booth Library. Starts at 10:00 a.m.

Music at My Place: Check out Lost Dog's bluegrass stylings at My Place and get some dinner and drinks while you're there. From 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
