New Sandy Hook School Finished Under Budget: Report
The new school came in over $1 million under budget, aiding the financially struggling state.

SANDY HOOK, CT — The state's most famous school building finished $1.5 million under its planned budget, at a time when fiscal responsibility is paramount in Hartford, according to multiple reports including the News Times.
The final savings total became clear when books were closed on the project. The school opened last August, on the same site where 20 students and six educators were slain in the worst crime in state history.
Following the 2012 massacre, the state pledged $50 million to help rebuild the school. Students attended a school in Monroe while the old building was knocked down and the new building erected in its place.
