Newtown Appoints Interim Superintendent: Report
The new interim superintendent replaces Joseph Erardi who is retiring.

NEWTOWN, CT — The district has picked a replacement for superintendent of schools Joseph Erardi who will retire on August 1. Current Newtown High School principal Lorrie Rodrigue will serve in the role for 11 months or until a new superintendent is chosen.
Rodrigue was selected as the 2017 Connecticut Principal of the Year. She has served as the head of Newtown High School since 2014 after stints in Washington and Southbury.
The district is still working to name an interim principal at the high school.
