Newtown, Brookfield And Bethel Police Partner For Youth Cadet Program
Newtown, Brookfield And Bethel police departments partner up for regional cadet program for teens pursuing law enforcement careers.

NEWTOWN, CT — The police departments of Newtown, Brookfield and Bethel are partnering once again to offer a law enforcement cadet program aimed at youths interested in police work.
The program was created in July 2011 by retired Officer Felica Figol of the Newtown PD. Since then, many dedicated officers have served as advisors, and the program has been a springboard for numerous success stories of youth advancing into careers in law enforcement, as correction officers, or in management and supervisory roles in other fields.
The initiative operates under the North East Regional Law Enforcement Educational Association (NERLEEA) and will be overseen by the Newtown Police Department. The program is open to young people ages 13 to 20 with no prior arrests and a commitment to a drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle.
