Newtown Budget Referendum's Official Results

NEWTOWN, CT — Last week, residents voted to approve the town and school spending plans for the upcoming fiscal year as well as several capital projects. Here's a look at the official tallies from the election.

• Board of Selectmen Budget: 2,227 yes to 1,130 no
• Board of Education Budget: 2,150 yes to 1,214 no
• Hawley School roof replacement: 2,158 yes to 1,196 no
• Newtown Middle School improvements: 2,053 yes to 1,292 no
• New senior center: 1,930 yes to 1,391 no
• New police station planning and design?: 2,214 1,109
