Newtown Underwater Search and Rescue assisted the Southbury Fire Department Friday morning in a river rescue.
A boat was overturned in the Southbury section of Lake Zoar near the Rochambeau Bridge shortly after 8 a.m. Friday. The lone occupant of the boat reportedly got on top of the vessel after it overturned, according to Southbury Firefighter Lieutenant Jason Decremer.

The Southbury Fire Department and Newtown's team were called to the scene and the occupant was removed from the river with no complications and no injuries, according to Decremer.
All units have returned to Southbury as of 9 a.m.
