Newtown Man Arrested for Illegal Street Racing: Police
Police say that the man struck another vehicle while racing, causing injuries.

NEWTOWN, CT — A second arrest has been made in connection with a street racing incident that caused injuries to three people in January, according to Newtown Police. Adam Debowski, 21, of Newtown turned himself in on an active arrest warrant on Friday afternoon.
Police say that the arrest stemmed from a collision on Huntingtown Road in January, where Debowski is accused of racing another individual and striking another vehicle. Two other victims were injured as a result of the crash. To sign up for Newtown breaking news alerts and more, click here.
Bailey Prestera, 21, was also arrested at the time of the crash. Debowski was charged with traveling at an unreasonable speed, reckless driving not greater than 85 miles per hour, illegal racing on a highway, disregarding signs or markings and reckless endangerment in the second degree.

Debowski was released on a $5,000 bond and is due in Danbury Superior Court on May 9.
