Newtown Police Investigate Hit-And-Run That Killed Dog
A woman was walking her dog on a leash in the area of The General Store and Newtown Savings Bank when the dog was struck by a white SUV.
NEWTOWN, CT — Police are investigating a hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a dog.
The single-car accident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, according to the Newtown Police Department.
A woman was walking her dog on a leash in the area of The General Store and Newtown Savings Bank when the dog was struck by a white SUV traveling northbound on Main Street.

The vehicle had just made a left turn into the driveway when it struck the dog. The SUV driver stopped briefly, but drove off when the dog owner called for help, according to police.
The dog later succumbed to its injuries, police said.
