NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown police seeking the public's assistance after a car evaded police on Rte. 34 near Sherman Street Wednesday night. Police say the car hit a dirt embankment while it was evading police. The car is identified as a older model silver Jeep Grand Cherokee, similar to the one pictured below.
