Newtown Restaurant Project Delayed By State Construction: Report
Walsh Plaza is slated for Route 34 near Toddy Hill Road in Newtown.
NEWTOWN, CT — The Walsh Plaza development, a restaurant and mini-mall project slated for Route 34 near Toddy Hill Road in Newtown, is being delayed by upcoming state construction on a nearby Interstate 84 ramp, reported the News-Times.
Owned by Dinah and James Walsh, the 3-acre property is near Exit 11, where the state Department of Transportation will begin a $25 million intersection improvement project in October.
The state project is expected to run into the fall of 2023, but when the Walsh development can begin has not yet been determined.
