Newtown Road Race Registration is Still Open for Saturday's 5K
Registration is still open for Saturday's 11th annual Newtown Road Race which includes a 5K, kid's fun run and celebration at Dickinson Park
NEWTOWN, CT — The 11th annual Newtown Road Race is set for this Saturday, September 3, 2016 and there is still time to register. All proceeds from the race are donated to Newtown Youth & Family Services, a nonprofit organization that serves family members of all ages by providing the affordable mental health services, support groups, after school and autism disorder programming.
Newtown Youth & Family Services works to reduce substance abuse, increase opportunities for student involvement and is focused on helping families to solve problems through counseling and community involvement.

- 5K (3.1 miles) and Kid's Run
- $25 per-registered runners, $30 on-site registration
- Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to participate
- The race will be limited to 1,000 runners
- Relatively flat, fast course is officially sanctioned and certified by the United States Track and Field Assocation(CT06009JHP)
- Race start, finish, and celebration will take place at Dickinson Park
- Run is through the beautiful community of Newtown and includes many landmarks of this special town
- The Kid's run will be in 75 yards, 150 yards and 1/4 mile, depending on level and age of the child- you may choose the day of the race. To register for the kids race you can mail in the form found here or register the day of (pricing will be the same)
The race welcomes individuals, families, children, runners, walkers and stroller pushers. The kid's fun run allows where children of all ages to compete in different activities in various age divisions.
The race starts at Dickinson Memorial Park, 50 Elm Drive in Newtown, at 9 a.m.Pre-registration begins at 7:15 a.m. on race day. Register online or at Dickinson Park on Friday or Saturday Morning. Race bag pick-up is located at Dickinson Park from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
