Newtown Salon and Spa Event Benefits for Homes For Our Troops

The event raised over $5,000.

Senator Richard Blumenthal visited Ricci’s Salon & Spa, located in Newtown, CT at their Cut-a-thon benefit yesterday (Sunday, May 15th). The money raised at the event was donated towards a handicap house being built in West Haven by the Homes For Our Troops nonprofit.

All stylists and staff worked for no pay, and donated the price of their haircuts to the building of a handicap house for 22 year-old Army Ranger Sean Pesce, who has returned from Afghanistan with life-altering injuries.

Over $5,000 was raised in 6 hours in the sold out event. Money is still trickling in from those who couldn’t get appointments nor make the drive to Newtown.

If you would like to donate but couldn’t attend the event, please send a check into Homes for Our Troops and earmark it for Sean Pesce. All checks are tax-deductible.
