Newtown Speech Teacher Inspires Students With Care & Creativity

Newtown, CT — Back-to-school season brings a mix of excitement and nerves — for students, parents and staff alike. Thankfully, Newtown is home to everyday school heroes who help make the transition smoother and the school year a little brighter.

From teachers and tutors to bus drivers, cafeteria staff, crossing guards and more, these caring individuals bring steady support and positivity to our schools. To recognize their many contributions — big and small — Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to salute the unsung heroes of back-to-school.

Eric is the Speech Teacher! He is always thinking about his students best interests and he shows it everyday! From the way he decorates his room, to the programs he uses and the digital resources he uses, he is always thinking of the best way to educate each student and make them feel special. He is always thinking of his coworkers, as well. If you need someone to talk to or need a snack, Eric is always there for you. He always shows how he appreciates his coworkers. One might find a pen or a free hug heart in your mailbox from him. He always goes above and beyond and he makes everything

What should your community know about this person?

He is one of the most caring people I know. He goes above and beyond to make everyone feel special. He is an awesome educator and has so much enthusiasm when he teaches. He uses the latest technology and he is so motivated. I watched him work with a student who did not speak and now that student is speaking. Words cannot express the care he has for everyone. From snacks to lending an early, Eric is always there for everyone! From the way he decorates his room to the care and attention he gives his students, his dedication is endless!
