Newtown Teacher Who Brought Loaded Gun to School Granted Special Probation: Report
A Newtown Middle School teacher who brought a loaded gun to school was granted accelerated rehabilitation. BREAKING

NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown 8th grade science teacher who was arrested after bringing a loaded gun to school back in April has been granted a special form of probation available only to first time offenders who aren’t at high risk to offend again, according to the Connecticut Post.
Jason Adams, 46, was accused of carrying a loaded .45-caliber pistol to school. Adams resigned at the end of the school year and was placed on administrative leave in April. He had a valid permit for the gun but state law prohibits firearms on school grounds. Adams has pleaded not guilty to the charge of having a weapon on school property. Adams was arrested and charged after a school employee notified a security guard who called police to the school.
If Adams completes the nine month program by July, the charges against him will be dismissed, the Post reported.
