Newtown Youth & Family, Police, Prevention Council Partner to Prevent Underage Drinking
The three groups are working together to monitor and curb underage drinking in Newtown.
Newtown, CT — Newtown's police, Prevention Council and Newtown Youth & Family Services are working together to help minimize underage drinking in town, according to The News Times.
Extra patrols are planned to prevent unsupervised underage parties, the paper reported.
According to their website, the Newtown Prevention Council was founded in 1986 and works on many drug prevention issues including revising the district drug policy, advocating for the hiring of substance abuse counselor and social worker and providing educational workshops for the community such as Parent Effectiveness Training.
