A candidate for Newtown's 106th district was hospitalized after being rear-ended by a tractor-trailer on I-84. BREAKING

NEWTOWN, CT — A candidate for Newtown's 106th district was hospitalized after being rear-ended on I-84 on Wednesday, according to The News Times. Eva Zimmerman is a Democrat running for the 106th state representative seat currently held by Mitch Bolinsky.
The paper reported that Zimmerman was driving near a construction zone when a tractor trailer truck failed to slow down and crashed into the rear of her Ford Fiesta sending her and the driver of a third vehicle to the hospital.
According to her website, Zimmerman recently was awarded the Latina Citizen of the year by the Connecticut General Assembly for her outstanding activism in helping over 5,000 Connecticut residents secure health insurance through the Access Health Market place. She volunteers for the Connecticut Center for a New Economy, Connecticut Citizen's Action Group, the Newtown Labor Day Parade and Newtown Arts Festival.
