Newtown's Renegades Ready for World Series (With Ice Cream)
Seen in Newtown: young local heroes on the way to the World Series.
The Newtown Renegades are headed for the World Series, and they raised some funds to support their trip Monday at Holy Cow Ice Cream on Church Hill Road. Players helped serve out ice cream -- and advertised their fundraiser on the side of the road alongside Holy Cow's mascot.
The 10U team will kick off the series against Ohio Valley champions South Lexington, KY Saturday. They dominated the New England Regionals last month, defeating Dedham, MA to win the championship.
