Newtown's Republican Primary: Absentee Ballots Now Available
Here is what you need to know if you are voting absentee for the town's Republican Primary election.

NEWTOWN, CT — If you are unable to make the town's Repbulican Municipal Primary election, you can vote by absentee ballots, which are now available at the Town Clerk's office. The town announced that residents can pick up a ballot Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The primary election will be held on Sept. 12. There will be special hours for absentee voting on Sept. 9 from 9 a.m to 12 p.m. at the Municipal Center.

Ballot requests
You can vote by absentee due to the following reasons:
- Illness or physical disability
- Absence from town during all election hours
- Religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on election day
- Serving as an election official at a polling place other than your own
- Active service in the Armed Forces
