Obituary: Charlotte Weiss Dines, 85, of Newtown

She remained a firecracker until the very end.

Charlotte Weiss Dines, 85, of Newtown, formerly of Southbury and Danbury, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Allen I. Dines, the devoted mother of Howard Dines and Lisa Dines Reiss, the cherished grandmother of Jaclyn and Deanna Reiss, and the dear sister of Lawrence Berk and Manny, Sammy, and Jerry Weiss. Graveside funeral services and burial will take place on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the United Jewish Center Cemetery, 210 Grays Bridge Road, Brookfield, CT, with Cantor Penny Kessler officiating. Charlotte was a loving mother, an active member of Hadassah, an avid traveler, and lover of needlepoint, mahjong, books, cooking, and poetry. Charlotte was a graduate of Urichsville High School in Ohio, and attended Ohio State University, where she met her husband. She remained a firecracker until the very end. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cincinnati chapter of Hadassah at PO Box 42396, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45242-0396 (http://www.hadassah.org/cincinnati). Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home at 9-11 Granville Avenue in Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
