I've been an elected member of the Newtown ZBA for 30 years and serve as the Chair

Why are you seeking this office?
I enjoy my role on ZBA, as it offers me a chance to give back to the community. It also provides a change of pace from my daily work yet allows me to use my analytical skills.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
Keeping the character of the town yet providing property owners with the ability to make improvements that are cohesive with the neighborhood

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My experience and knowledge of the Zoning regulations, and my ability to apply good judgement and analyze complex or difficult situations.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
In addition to owning a local CPA firm and serving in many statewide and national leadership roles in my profession, I've served on the Board of Directors of Newtown Savings Bank for 21 years as well as Chairman of a large regional non-profit organization.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
It's alright to make mistakes as long as you learn from them (and don't repeat them).
