Why are you seeking this office? I’m running because Newtown and our state deserve fresh leadership, not more career politics. I’ve managed billions in government contracts, cut waste, and delivered results and now I want to bring that accountability home. As a mom raising my daughter here, I live the same challenges as our families every day, and I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and fight for results, not politics.
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: The single most pressing issue is affordability. Families are stretched, businesses are leaving Connecticut, and trust in government is at an all-time low. I’ll bring real accountability by cutting waste, restoring fiscal discipline, and making sure every tax dollar works for the people, not bureaucracy.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? The major difference between me and the other candidates is that I’m not a career politician. I bring real-world results managing over $7 billion in federal contracts, cutting waste, and holding people accountable but just as importantly, I live the same reality as most families in Newtown. The majority of Newtown residents are between 18 and 55 working, raising kids, and balancing bills and I live that reality every day. That gives me direct insight into the struggles most families face. I have my finger on the pulse day in and day out with parents, seniors, and working people. But I also listen closely to our seniors, who worry about staying in Connecticut on fixed incomes. I intend to represent both the majority who live these daily challenges now, and the seniors who built this community and deserve security. I’m not running to build a career; I’m running to deliver results that make life better for the people I live alongside.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign? Beyond affordability, I’ll focus on strengthening our schools, supporting first responders, growing our economy responsibly, and restoring trust in government. Families deserve strong schools, safe neighborhoods, and smart investments that create jobs without losing what makes Newtown special. Most of all, I’ll bring accountability, so every taxpayer knows their dollars are working for them. And just as important, I believe finding common ground with neighbors and even those on the other side is the only way we truly deliver success for our town.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job? My career has been built on accountability, results, and leadership. I’ve managed over $150 billion in federal and defense contracts, ensuring compliance, cutting waste, and negotiating tough deals that directly impacted taxpayers and national security. At a leading U.S. aerospace and defense company, I oversaw multi-billion-dollar helicopter programs, driving efficiency and solving problems under pressure. I also established a contracts department from the ground up, implementing policies and systems that strengthened governance and long-term success. These accomplishments required the same skills Newtown and Connecticut need fiscal discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to work with all stakeholders to deliver results. Beyond my professional work, I’ve served my community as a children’s book author, coach, and advocate, giving me a deep understanding of the families I’ll represent. I’m ready to bring both my professional expertise and community commitment to this role.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you? The best advice I ever received was: ‘Don’t just talk about problems solve them, and always follow the facts, not the noise.’ Growing up in a military family, I also learned the value of ‘service before self.’ Those lessons have shaped everything I do from managing billions in contracts with accountability and precision, to coaching kids on the softball field, to advocating for families here in Newtown. They remind me that leadership is about action, service, and results not politics.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions? What I’d like voters to know is that I’m not running to play politics I’m running to deliver results. I bring the experience of managing billions in contracts, where accountability and precision matter, but I also bring the perspective of a mom raising her daughter right here in Newtown. I know the families in this town well, and I have my finger on the pulse of the struggles they face every day from affordability to schools to safety. The majority of our residents are 18–55, and I live those realities, but I also deeply value the seniors who built this community and deserve to thrive here. My approach is simple: listen, use common sense, work hard, find common ground with neighbors and even those who disagree, and always put people before politics. With grit, integrity, and accountability, I’ll fight for a stronger, more affordable Connecticut where every family can succeed.
